About:

Melissa Alexander had three careers in her lifetime which all involved detailed, logistical approaches and massive amounts of organized structured timelines. She practiced law for 21 years, operated a meeting and event planning business for five years and taught college level courses for 17 and half years. Enormous time commitments prevented her from pursuing any art along with the memories of her 4th grade teacher telling her parents she lacked any artistic talent and should not pursue any art courses. 

As her careers began to wind down, Melissa felt a call to pursue what had long been abandoned. She took up ceramics and was hooked from the week she took her first course with an extremely talented artist who inspired her directions in pursuing ceramics. Melissa fell in love with handbuilding and the creation of animals, creatures, and any other ceramic forms. She also took four intensified weeklong courses with other ceramic artists where her skills and techniques were refined and enhanced. All of her creations are hand built pieces.
