FUNCTIONAL KITCHENWARE

My current body of pottery work is functional kitchenware using a cone 6 dark red stoneware body and a Nuka-style ash glaze that I make using wood ash that is a result of heating our home with wood in the winters.

WORKING WITH POLYMER CLAYS

Polymer clay allows me the versatility to try all kinds of techniques, such as colored clay complex canes for birds or bowls, while some pieces made with white clay are painted with various surfaces treatments, like the mushroom vases. My paintings, are not really painted at all, but are sculpted polymer clay with a palette knife and cured.
